French Onion Soup


  • 4 Onions, diced
  • 1 stick of butter
  • 1-2 tsp Olive Oil or Avocado Oil
  • 32 fl oz Beef Broth
  • 8 oz Water
  • 1 cube Beef Bullion
  • 1 tsp Thyme
  • 1/2 tsp Powdered Garlic
  • Salt and Pepper to taste
  • Sliced Provolone Cheese
  • Shredded Parmesan Cheese
  • Bread (optional)


Dice up the onions. Put the butter in the stock pot and allow to melt, then pour in the chopped onions making sure it is on medium heat. Stir the onions occasionally making sure to not let them brown, they are ready when they are kind of clear. Add in the thyme, salt, and pepper.

Add in the oil to help stir the onions. Add the beef broth, water, beef bullion, and garlic powder. Allow to boil for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. Taste 25 min into cooking to check and make sure it’s taste is to your liking.


*You can place a piece of bread under the cheese if you want*

Ladle into a bowl and place a piece of provolone on top and sprinkle with parmesan cheese. Place bowl in an oven and broil until the cheese melts and bubbles. Enjoy!
